Tieyan Shang is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Washington and is board certified by National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Tieyan Shang pursued her five-year college education at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM), one of the four oldest schools of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China. She spent the first two years for preclinical studies and the last three years for internship and residency at the affiliated Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing, China.
Graduating top of the class, Tieyan Shang continued her graduate study at Beijing Medicual University (now known as Peking University Health Science Center), the most prestigious medical school in China. Her mentor was Professor Ji-Sheng Han, a scientist well known for his research in electro-acupuncture (EA) analgesia.
Tieyan Shang came to the United States in 1999. She taught acupuncture at University of Miami Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine and at Acupuncture and Massage College. She started her own practice at Corabl Gables, Florida. After successfully running the clinic there for many years, she relocated with her family to the Greater Seattle area.
